Gluten free sandwiches on Bainbridge Island or Pt Townsend

My partner has requested that we get sandwiches for lunch on Bainbridge Island and/or Port Townsend (WA) for his birthday. He’s gluten intolerant. Anyone know of options?

We’re already aware of the Silverwater Cafe in PT but we’re going there for dinner so I’d like to find other options!

A quick search of Find Me Gluten Free turned up Owl Sprit Cafe in Port Townsend.

Response by poster: Sorry, I should have specified- we’re going on a Wednesday and Thursday so Owl Sprit is out, as it’s closed on both days.

The Red Cedar Cafe on Bainbridge says that their sandwiches can be made with a Gluten Free bun. No experience with their gluten free offerings, I just stopped there a few years back and they seemed like the kind of place that could accommodate.

The Port Townsend Food Coop has a fantabulous deli. There are always some good gluten-free options, as well as gluten-free breads one can match with sandwich fillers.
You don't have to be a member to shop there.

I don't think they're allowing eating inside, at the moment, but there's a lovely patio outside that may be legit - and for a spectacular view, Union Wharf or Adams St. Park (further north on the main street, aka Water Street), or Chetzamoka Park are pretty unbeatable for a picnic. We've got all kinds of parks here, but those three are best imho.

Enjoy!
