At the gym running and weightlifting. Todays the day for rage music.

Expanding the aggro playlist. Suggestions?

Gen x but time period doesn’t matter. Just a reference point.

Short list currently has Eminem, the Pogues, Neutral Milk Hotel.

Tracks off the Doom (revival) & Doom Eternal soundtrack are great for this. Driving, instrumental-heavy (but not fully instrumental), etc. Here's an example "Workout Mix" setlist.

I made one of these a few years ago:

Asian Dub Foundation Naxalite
Actually, their Fortress Europe is ragier, but I couldn't, weirdly, find a good download.

From a Gen X standpoint, you can't go wrong with Public Enemy: 911 is a joke, By The Time I Get To Arizona, etc.

This Is Free Europe by Attila The Stockbroker has a particularly good chorus about punching nazis.

Gunboat, by Spoek Mathambo

Much of Owen Pallett's album In Conflict really does it for me - not precisely rage but a lot of rage-adjacent feelings. It was superb for the gym, back before the pandemic. The Riverbed

Second Rate, Skeleton Crew.

Oddly, I am very fond of Eddy Grant's famous eighties hit, Electric Avenue, which is about the anti-police riots in Brixton.

Basically all 1990s PNW girl punk

I listened to Burn the White Flag by Joseph a lot while getting divorced, for a totally different genre. My browser won’t let me link but it’s here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=el1QWfnYy_c

Maybe not as ragey as you want, but when I need to let it out, I turn some Joan up to 11. Do Ya Wanna Touch in particular, because at about the 2:40 mark, the background vocals change a bit. Instead of "touch me", etc., we get "fuck you, fuck me, FUCK EVERYBODY!!" just buried in the mix enough that it's not obvious. And then I feel better, because Joan has my back.

(The video is a nightmare, don't watch it, just listen.)

I saw Vita and the Woolf perform Bury You during the Kavanagh hearings, which she specifically referred to when she introduced it. It's maybe not gym music but it is full of haunting rage.

Nobody's mentioned Bodies by The Sex Pistols. It's kind of hard to tell if it's pro or anti-abortion [it's about an abortion], but the rage quotient is very extremely high. I don't know every song on this list - but the ones I do know don't really compare.
