Cedar/sandalwood/birch/patchouli - nice smelling pomades and creams?

Finally all traces of covid long hair are gone (let's hope case counts are at least intermittently low enough for me to keep going to the barber) and I need a new pomade. I have smelled certain ones and would like something that smells nice but not overpowering, see below.

First, as nice as Aveda products smell, they do nothing at all for my hair so that's right out.

I have thick, coarse short hair that I like to wear pushed back from my forehead. I'd like strong but still sorta creamy pomade or other product - nothing very waxy or clay-y that requires a lot of effort to spread in your hand.

I'd like it to smell nice...to me, but not to everyone in the room.

Price is no object - I don't actually use a ton at a time and my other body products are pretty much cerave, cerave and cerave, so I'm willing to shell out for something really nice.

Smells that I like: woody smells generally, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, birch oil. Grassy green smells. Juniper and natural pine smells. Vetiver.

Smells that I don't like, at least to wear: Food smells. Vanilla. Powdery smells. Melon, apple, fruit in general. Fruity florals. Sugar. Food herbs like rosemary. Anything really sweet. Anything that smells more like a perfume smell than a hair smell.

Anyway! Please get me a new pomade because my old one went bad during the pandemic and smells kind of off and my remaining texturing spray just isn't cutting it.

If you want a pomade, I like the American Crew Pomade, smells great in that botanical but not floral way. If you want something less greasy looking, their Grooming Cream is fantastic as well.

Aesop stuff is pretty much the bomb. They're really generous with samples if you want to try it out first. While you're there, check out their Resurrection hand cream (and soap!). They're not cheap, but their scents are simply amazing.

I have not smelled all their products, but I love the scent of Cult & King's TONIK and SETSPRAY. Both are unisex, earthy, herbal and complex. Their BALM may work for you- you can buy adorable sample sizes to to try. All natural, no petroleum, they sell refills so you can reuse their lovely packaging. If the Balm doesn't work on your hair you can use it on skin.
