Exterminator in OR/WA

Environmentally neutral or friendly, low cost, old buildings and residential. Rodents.
Hi. Renovating an old building in OR, near the WA border.
A moderate colony of rats is present. Recently, we received what felt an exorbitant quote ($2K) to permanently remove the colony from beneath the home. Can anyone recommend a company/service/individual to help? A directory?
"Moderate colony," Adults, juveniles, elderly. Visible in the day. Active in the evening.
Don't worry about smaller suggestions like traps, etc. It's a slightly larger problem.
Thanks!

Somewhat off topic, but that would not be exorbitant to me if it came with a guarantee. For example, here in Oakland we had a persistent rat intrusion problem in our basement- they weren't even living there necessarily, but hanging out and pooping- and we paid around 1200 for abatement. This meant blocking all access, cleaning and disinfecting (rats are attracted to the smell of rats), and setting traps. The traps never caught anything because the blocking was successful, but we had a five year guarantee that they would come back and take care of any problem (our neighbors used the same company for their ancient detached garage and they returned four times in the first six months, and now they seem to have been successful).
Catching and disposing of rats is a messy and thankless business, as is cleaning up years of rat detritus and stink. I can't imagine this being a job they would not have to return to to get it right. With an active rat colony in an old building 2,000 seems about right *if* they have some sort of guarantee. We essentially paid for five years of rat insurance in our case, and the fact that we didn't have to rely on it was a good thing.

Whatever you choose, keep in mind that which kills rats kills cats too. The poison is usually a blood thinner. Figure out how to keep your cats from hunting, both in and out of the house.
