Are there any iOS weather apps that tell me when the rain has stopped?

I have a paid subscription to Carrot weather, and it will notify me when it's about to rain. But it's late October in Vancouver, BC and it rains here a lot. The default is that it is always raining - I would like to know when it's stopped so I can quickly take the puppy out!

Yes, I know I could look out the window.... but it's not always in my line of sight, the perpetual grey makes it hard to tell if it's raining or not, often the blinds are closed, and I dont think to check often enough. So instead of my phone notifying me rain is going to start, I'd like to reverse it and have it tell me when it's stopped! Carrot weather doesn't seem to do this - are there any iOS apps that do? Any other ideas how I can be notified when it's safe to take the puppy out on a quick pee break without getting rained on?

I'm pretty technical and could build something myself that is just watching for changes in a weather api, but I dont have the time - I'd much rather just pay a couple bucks to an app developer who's already done the work!

Best answer: The new weather app in iOs 15.1 does exactly this! Really handy for "When to walk the dog?".

Dark Sky (which Apple bought and appears to be phasing out as it integrates its functionality into their mainline default weather app) does exactly this. "Rain stopping in 15 minutes, starting again in 45 minutes."

Sounds like cgg wants to get a notification... I'm not sure the IOS weather app does that, does it?

Yes, make sure notifications are turned on in the Weather settings.

Best answer: Not sure, since right now rain in the Seattle area is "continuing for the hour", but Carrot may notify you of precip ending if you're using Dark Sky as your weather source.

FWIW I think Apple's iOS 15.1's weather notifications are based on Darksky's (since Apple bought Darksky)

Response by poster: Oh cool, I'll try both upgrading to iOS 15 (had been putting it off) and switching Carrot to use DarkSky (it did not even occur to me to switch sources!) and see what happens! Thx!

Carrot does usually send me a notification like "rain ending in 20 minutes." I don't pay super-close attention to it, so I don't know if it does it every single time, but I see that kind of notification pretty regularly (with Dark Sky as the source).
