Single size hair trimmer

Are there hair trimmers optimized for a longer size that don’t use plastic combs?
I long ago decided I want my hair 12mm long all over my head and beard. Trimmers usually come with a variety of plastic combs to set the length, but they are much inferior to the trim you get with no comb attached. The comb gets hair wrapped around it, or it comes off, or hair gets stuck in between. No matter how great the trimmer, it is the same crappy comb.
So is there a trimmer that is a whole unit which only cuts one length (in my case 12mm), but does it really well?

Switch the blade on your trimmer? (Metal combs, for animal grooming.)

If hair is getting stuck, it means the hair your trimming is too long to be cleanly cut. Even at barber shop will trim hair down gradually to get a consistent, smooth cut.
Your blade might also need oiling. Just a drop or two of machine oil onto the blades makes a world of difference.
That said, this clipper set uses adjustable blades instead of guards. You will still likely need to trim your hair closer to the desired length if its much longer than 1", no clipper can smoothly take inches of hair down to 12 mm in one go.
