Is the IAPWE legit? Does anyone utilize this site?

What is the atmosphere like? Content drafting/farming? Pay? What is this?

Never heard of 'em -- I almost certainly would have if they had any clout (and I belong to several organizations that would be in the same genre.) My money would be on a scam or a fringe startup.

Is that the one that advertises a lot with web banners? I considered joining but decided not to, as I can't find any outside references to it.

The internet suggests that it is a job board that you pay to join. They post ads on craigslist advertising writing jobs but they offer no jobs themselves; rather, this is bait to get you to sign up for their monthly subscription service that gives you access to their listings. However, it seems that the listings could be real. Here is one writer's experience.
