Animation app for kids?

10 year old child is very into creating Gatcha videos through screenshots and assembling them in KineMaster on our iPad for short 30-60s clips. She’s starting to hit limits on what she can put together creatively and wants to move up into actual animation. She uses procreate for drawing and we are willing to sign her up and help her with classes. What’s the sweet spot for not so simple animation apps here?

Response by poster: I am informed by her it is Gacha videos. If you do not know what those are, you are so very very fortunate. Basically clip art doll making avatars you can pose in different situations with speech bubbles and effects.

There is a 10-year old child in my life who also makes Gacha videos, and she seems to really like ibisPaint X, FlipaClip, and RoughAnimator for having more control over the animation in her videos.

Has she looked into stop motion? It'd be good if she has the toys and whatnot to pose with.

My 9 year old got really into FlipaClip last year and enjoys it.

I would suggest the following options: look for video tutorials on YouTube using something like Adobe Animate or look for classes on Outschool or ID Tech.

One more thing: Scratch the programming language can be easily used for animation and interactivity.

https://scratch.mit.edu/

And it's completely free.
