Selling furniture in France....

Selling-Furniture-in-France: Any suggestions for websites to post to to sell furniture in France (specifically in Lyon)? Craiglist, for instance, seems to have a rather small following in this town. Any other thoughts/secrets to selling stuff in France are appreciated....

We have a bunch of totally-like-new IKEA stuff we (a couple of poor students) are looking to part with by the beginning of July since we can't (affordably) bring it with us back to Canada....

I suggest that you put adverts in all faculties there or go put them on a some kind of a "depot-vente" like http://www.depot-vente-lyon.com

Ask people around you, they'll tell about those depot-vente

Do you have friends that would store it for you for a couple of months? I'm not offering to buy it from you (I probably can't afford it), but I'm going to be arriving in Lyon mid-august for their 1st semester, and I imagine that a large number of other students will also be moving in to new places for the beginning of the uni year then (or earlier, like you're advised to). It'd be a hassle for the friends, but you could offer them a cut of what it sells for.

As a side note, do you mind if I contact you for some kind of guidelines on what it's like over there? I couldn't see an email address, but mine is jacalata at hotmail dot com.

Best answer: Lyon Web is the site I used for all that kind of thing when I lived in Lyon three years ago...

Whatever you don't sell, I would consider donating to Emmaus - they'll pick it up for free.
