Searching for a song for a song

I'm searching for a song with a general sound or theme. Something that sounds like Southern Rock, and upbeat with whimsy. But also with some reminiscence and something that speaks in some allegorical ways. Any ideas?
Government Cheese - "Mammaw Drives the Bus" (nostalgic yet whimsical 80s college rock audibly from Kentucky and focused on a detail odd enough to read as symbolic)

Drive by Truckers, "Let There Be Rock"--upbeat, sounds like Southern rock, a wry reminiscence about how important music can be to a kid. "And I never saw Lynyrd Skynyrd but I sure saw Molly Hatchet/And the band that I was in played "The Boys are Back in Town".

(Can you clarify, please: Southern rock, like Skynyrd? Or rock that's of the South?)
The Kentucky Headhunters, "Beaver Creek Mansion"

Little Feat, "Dixie Chicken." A great party with lots of emphatic Southern place names.

Tony Joe White is my #1 go to for music with this vibe. Check out Polk Salad Annie or Stud Spider.

Drive-By Truckers (and probably Jason Isbell solo work) would definitely seem to be the first place to look.
I’d also recommend a listen to the catalog of the Rainmakers (a few albums in the 80s/early 90s; not sure about what they’ve done since). Rootsy and at least somewhat Southern (from MO I think) and definitely whimsical, nostalgic, and allegorical in turn, sometimes all within the span of a single song.
