best turn-based online (private) multiplayer mobile strategy games 2021?

A few friends & I love playing private online mobile Carcassonne games. I know there have been other threads similar to this one, but they are mostly older or less specific. We dig that we can control the Carcassonne game parameters, length of game, the fact that it's optionally private, and the rules aren't too nuts. Thanks Mefiters. : )

We use board game arena to play board games with our friends. Seems like a good fit for you :)

Polytopia might be of interest to you; it's on Android as well as iPhone.

I've been playing dominion, citadels and catan.

All of my non-board playing friends have been able to pick them up (also watching explanation videos on youtube has helped). In fact, we're discussing using the online versions going forward because they eliminate the shuffling, remembering rule details, etc...

Maybe a better citadels link.

Response by poster: Thx for the links! Polytopia seems like the only truly mobile-app-designed one (though I could give them a shot in mobile web browser), but also kinda complex.
