We need insurance.

Does anyone know of a Black or minority-owned insurance agency in or around Portland, OR?

We need new home/auto insurance, and we'd like to put our money in a Black or minority-owned business if at all possible. I've checked Mercatus, and found one agent, but that agent only deals with one company. I'd like to explore other options before committing to a particular insurance company, so I'd like to talk to an independent agent first if possible.

Perhaps call this Black-owned small biz/commercial insurance company there and ask for a recommendation? It stands to reason that insurance people would know other insurance people in the city.

You might look at agencies based in east Portland or perhaps historic Albina (inner N/NE). Years ago, I had luck finding a Black agent with a large insurance company, but didn't look for independent.

I have found some great vendors using the Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs member directory . Looks like there are several insurance agents/agencies who are members.
