How can I cut and paste two or more things at the same time with Win XP?
I want to be able to press ctrl-v and paste one thing and then have another key combination which will paste something else. Can this be done?

I haven't tried these but they sound like the kind of thing you're looking for:
Multi Clipboard
CastlePaste PRO
Macro Express
Macro Mania

ArsClip is pretty good.
I tried clipomatic for a while, but it was basically useless.. For example, for some reason it wasn't able to work with operations like right-click -> copy URL to clipboard in firefox.

Unless I am missing something here, can't you select the first object, hold down Ctrl and select the second object, right click and select cut, then go to the destination and paste?

keep it tight -
only if you are using Word or something similar. It won't work in a browser or for objects of different types (e.g. a file and the filename as text).
Can anyone who has used these tools recommend one? I'm hesitant to install software without hearing from someone who has used it and can vouch for it.

The only other option I'm aware of is third-party stuff, like this one.
