How can I get something picked up in San Antonio and mailed to me in IL?

I have my eye on a product in a shop 1200+ miles away from me and, sadly, the shop has such antiquated policies that it will neither ship it to me nor allow me to pay for it over the phone. There must be a way to have someone make the purchase, pack the item for mailing, and deliver it to a post office. Educate me, please!

There may be a specialized service out there, but you could also use Taskrabbit.

I would trust someone on TaskRabbit who has a ton of good feedback. Or I'd go on all my social media to see if anybody knows anybody in San Antonio who can help. Or I'd post it on Jobs and see if a Mefite would do it.

FYI, as you likely know, San Antonio is HUGE, area wise. So don't agree to pay mileage to someone near Fair Oaks to get something from Mission San Jose. A flat fee is probably your best bet.
