Been experiencing a strange hot spot sensation in my lower left abdomen??

YANMD, but just curious as to what this may be.

Tonight randomly I started feeling heat in my lower left side...it’s definitely contained to a specific spot (though not around any joints, it feels more on my belly). It’s not painfully hot, but it feels as if a hot water bottle was on it, or if I was holding a hairdryer up to it—that level of heat. When I touch that area, it feels no different in temperature than the rest of my body. It feels like it should be radiating heat...but nothing.

I don’t really have any pain or tingling or numbness that accompanies this, just a weird internally hot spot, so it’s doesn’t seem to be dangerous...just kind of irritating? I’ve had this randomly before in a different spot, but that one went away quickly so I paid it no mind...this one is still going after a couple hours.

Any idea of what it might be?

This is a question for your health care team.

Please call your doctor.

Heat is a sign of infection, and medical professionals take that very seriously.

Yeah, I had this happen on my leg, let it go for awhile, and then it started hurting. Turned out I had an infection down in there, and by the time I went to get it seen, it had started to get kinda bad. Not saying that's what's going on, but I agree that heat in random places in the body is not to be trifled with. (I'd probably wait a day or two, but that's just me.)

Thirding talking to a doctor. In addition to an infection, it could also be a nerve issue or any number of other things. This is not to say that it definitely will be something ghastly, but random heat in your abdomen is a thing to ask your doctor about.

Possibly a nerve thing. Saying that, because when I stand in one place too long, one of my legs feels heat, too, so much so that the first time I noticed it I thought I was next to a heater! I'm guessing a nerve thing - and I haven't been to the doctor for it yet either. Good luck!
