Lost in a swamp full of alligators. Any help?

While recently clearing out a shed which has been there at least the 30 years in our family, found this "Alligators" "sign". Can you help identify?

I am having no luck identifying it through every relevant search I can think of, although I am amazed by how many opportunities there apparently are to buy alligator meat and/or view or wrestle alligators. Searches for "alligator" as a company/brand name lead to many of the same reptilian providers as well as many references to Mr. Alligator's clips.

If it helps, this is a about 8" x 5 " by about 1/8" at the background metal and weighs about 15 ounces. It is non-magnetic. It has three attached bolts with nuts on the rear to attach to (???). I don't know what is in its mouth, although my thoughts were "cable" "trash can" and "log section".

Anyone familiar with the logo, company, or have any more helpful ideas for search terms? The back facing extension of the "R" seems to have possible significance, but I am floundering at how to include it in a word search.

I think it's lumber related. There's a Jensen A141 Alligator wood chipper but I couldn't find a picture of its logo.
