An email thread from my gmail was texted to me. What gives?

So I got a text today from a phone number that I don't recognize. The content of the text is an entire email thread from my own gmail. How did this happen, and should I be concerned??
I got a text from a random phone number this afternoon. I used a reverse phone lookup service to check the number, and it is from Fort Myers, FL. I live in New York.
The context of the text was the entirety of an email thread, from my google account. The other person in the thread was a relative of mine. The thread was from earlier today.
I have changed the password on my google account, and suggested my relative do the same.
I have never had anything like this happen before. If anyone has a clue as to what might be going on here, I would appreciate hearing it!

I don't know what's going on, but in addition to changing your password, I'd recommend turning on 2 step verification on your account as well.

Maybe a dumb question but, does the phone number belong to the person you were emailing with? My dad used to get mixed up and email me things he was trying to text... just one idea.
