Static On the Receiving End of FB Live

I've been teaching yoga classes on FB Live using my Chromebook. The classes went fine until Friday when all the watchers could hear was static. Same thing happened this evening. Is it the Chromebook? What can be happening? How can I troubleshoot this issue?

Response by poster: Just attempted to speak at a Zoom gathering. They heard static also so it is the Chromebook

Best answer: Sounds (pun unintended) like your microphone isn't working.

Not sure how Facebook live works, but for Zoom at least you could try calling in using your phone instead of using computer audio.

It might have been a glitch in the transmission if all the receivers heard static simultaneously. Or a spy ware feed gumming up the signal.
