Oat Groats (I think) + Instant Pot?

Cleaning out the "pantry" and found a bag if what I think are oat groats. I have two questions: one is does it seem possible to make some version of this IP Gingerbread Oatmeal and Buckwheat Porridge with just oat groats? (I don't have any steel cut oats, or a good record of eating whatever oatmeal I do buy, so don't really want to buy another item to get lost in the pantry). Two, do you have a recipe (of any kind, not necessarily breakfast) you love that uses oat groats? I'm all ears!

If you are wondering why I have this mystery item with no idea at all what to do with it ... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. My best guess is we bought it thinking it was something else. In my / our defense, we are often buying things identified only in Greek, which doesn't always translate perfectly to the English language counterpart, and if it's not a familiar item, it can be hit or miss.

Oats are forgiving. That looks like a tasty recipe and I think you will be fine. Maybe you’ll need an extra five minutes cooking, between the groat-ness and the grains having had more time to sit around and dry out.

I really like their texture and use them in savory dishes, for example cooking them together with most Indian dal recipes or mixing them in with spicy cooked vegetable dishes.

(If these oats have been lurking for a while, don't be surprised if there are meal moth caterpillars in it. The last couple of times I found forgotten oats in a cupboard they were a bit more wiggly than I like my breakfast to be.)

I cook oat groats in the instant pot all the time. It's the same thing as steel cut oats, but just not cut up, so they will take longer to cook. The texture is more toothsome/lumpy than steel cut oats. I don't have a real recipe but it's something like 1 part oatmeal (mix of steel cut, groats and buckwheat groats) to 2.5ish parts water, and then 10 minutes in the instant pot with a natural release. You can reduce time/water depending on how chewy or viscous you like it.
