Kitchen gloves for big (man) hands

Can anyone suggest a brand of gloves for big hands (in my case, a big guy's hands) to use washing dishes & cleaning bathrooms? The latex gloves for sale at Target in the cleaning aisle won't ft over may hands, or if they do then they are like skin-tight and are difficult to take off.

I considered heavy-duty, chemical-resistant gloves (like they would wear in a lab, maybe, or for refinishing furniture) but I think they're too stiff for washing dishes. Is that correct?

The flimsy ones get holes quickly. The blue ones at Target are either size S/M or M/L, and even the larger size is almost too tight to remove.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Casabella's large gloves are pretty large (my male partner has worn mine) although may only come in fuschia, if it matters. They are very good gloves.

Best answer: I suspect the search here is "12 mil 13" nitrile gloves". This gets you the thicker material and the mid-forearm cuff, and then you can check the size chart to find something that fits. I have trouble with gloves sold for dishwashing, and I can wear Showa's XL size.

I have a suspicion that gloves marketed for dishwashing are sized for women.

Mr. gudrun has very large hands and uses Playtex Handsaver Gloves, which come in size X-Large. They are hard to find in stores so we get them from amazon.

Look for mechanic's gloves at Autozone (or whatever is your local equivalent).

As for getting them off - blow air in the cuff and the glove fingers will inflate off your flesh fingers.

Shopping for janitorial/industrial work gloves may offer solutions. For an example, Your Glove Source has waterproof/water-resistant "MaxiDry 56-426" nitrile-dipped gloves in size XXL; "One customer uses them for cold weather commercial window washing and 1 pair will last him 8 to 12 weeks."

Hardware stores stock a larger range of sizes for these gloves, both on the smaller end and larger. I get my gloves at Ace Hardware or Home Depot.

If you don't want to order XL gloves, check your drugstores, hardware stores, independent pharmacies/medical supply, and beauty supply. Target charges a fortune anyway.

I wear gloves a lot doing dishes. Mr Clean just began offering Mr Bliss gloves, I see they are offered in extra large. These white vinyl gloves are thick with a soft lining. I really like them, maybe they will fit you as well. They are easy to find in grocery stores and Amazon for five bucks.

Grease Monkey are a "disposable" (I use them several times before throwing them away) glove that are heavy duty enough to do stuff like oil changes. Available in a 8mil nitrile or 15mil latex both with a 11" cuff. Both available in XXL. Both are very tough gloves and have a textured surface for grip of wet things. Every auto parts place here has them.

Also a 4mil landfill biodegradable version with a 9.5" cuff but I haven't used that style.

I've been on this search as well, I just picked up these:"UltraSource 441230-4XL Disposable Nitrile Gloves, 6 mil, Powder Free, 4X-Large, Blue."
They work well. The cuff could be a little longer, but the size is perfect.

Response by poster: I got a box of Showa disposables (model 708 in size XXL). The first pair lasted like twenty uses so far, so and these aren't even the fancy ones. The size is good, and the "fish scale" textured grip is not bad. So thanks, MetaFilter!
