Like a rainbow in the tattoo. In the dark.

My friend and I want a tattoo that expresses Dio’s Rainbow in the Dark somehow (ssshhhh. It’s meaningful for us). We need ideas for how we might do this? All areas, placements and sizes are open.

This isn't going to sound like a serious answer, but if you're of the male genitalia-persuasion, I suppose the obvious (but extremely uncomfortable) placement would be the taint.

You could get a UV tattoo of a rainbow! You'd have to do a bit of sourcing legwork to find an artist skilled in UV tattoos who uses ink that does not contain phosphorous.

I have no idea how to represent this in tattoo form, but to help with brainstorming, maybe somehow a moonbow?

If you have long hair, you could get a rainbow on the nape of the neck.

I've long wondered about getting a tattoo on the bottom of my foot, although you'd have to be pretty committed to a sedentary healing process and I hear it fades really quickly. A rainbow on your inner bottom lip would work.

Perhaps approach it from another angle: browse through tattoo artists in your area to find one whose style you like and get a consultation with them.

And some miscellaneous brainstorms:
- The words "The Dark" filled in a rainbow gradient
- rainbow with clouds on the end and lightning coming out of the clouds
- crescent moon with a face on it (like this emoji🌛) in a circle with a rainbow gradient background
- for extreme obscurity - orange, purple, silver - they're "words without a rhyme"

I'm thinking of those black scratch-off sketchpads with rainbow underneath: what about the tattoos being of a drawing (of a rainbow?) done on such a surface?
