Yet another psychiatrist recommendation request

I need to find a good psychiatrist in the CA bay area (northbay, city, or eastbay) as soon as I possibly can.

I'm in northern CA and in the last two years I have been through two major surgeries and a hugely traumatic event. I also have a chronic neuropathy that is degenerative and has no cure. Chronic pain is part of that. In short, I'm an effing mess. I've been to therapy (mostly with MFTs) over the years, which was minimally helpful, and have been diagnosed with dysthymia. I had an absolutely brilliant psychiatrist who was the most helpful provider I've ever had, but he is no longer in practice as of about eight years ago. I'm taking 50mg of Desvenlafaxine 1x that was prescribed by a psychiatrist that I went to a few times but got a pretty cold feeling about. At this point I don't know if the meds are effective at all.

In the last year or so, I've been descending into a very frightening state of suicidal despair. I can't go on like this. I feel like my brain is broken and have been doing absolutely everything I can think of...meditation, lots of reading about CBT etc., reaching out to friends, distraction through busyness, volunteering, on and on. I even tried psilocybin sessions for chrissakes. I'm not religious so no help there. Exercise isn't much of an option due to disability.

TL;DR I need to find a good psychiatrist in the bay area (northbay, city, or eastbay) as soon as I possibly can.

I am very wary of shrinks, and have had a good experience with Dr. Jeremy Orgel in SF at 1700 Pierce (near Mt. Zion). My needs are not as complex as yours (anxiety and depression) but I really like his approach. I am really sensitive to medication side effects and he was able to find me one that didn't upset my stomach or make me exhausted.

His number is (415) 776-9215. He even takes insurance (I have Anthem and he's on my plan).
