Why do I have $1000 in my google play account?

I have a chrome book, and just went to buy my first app (I’ve only downloaded free apps up til now) and I have a $1000 balance in my Google Play account. Why the hell? Where the hell?

Best answer: You should be able to review your account history and see where it came from.

While you're changing your account password, also set up two-factor authentication using your phone or something that isn't connected to your email address. (While you're at it, do you use a password manager to make sure you have long, unique passwords?)

Response by poster: mystery solved! the money was from a non-nefarious source.
