Does Lightroom 5 still work on MacOS 10.14 (Mojave)?

My current mac's OS is Yosemite 10.10.5, and I use Lightroom 5.3 quite a lot (which I think is the last non-subscription version). Will it still work on the latest OS (Mojave 10.14)?

I can't answer your exact question, but you may need to rethink if you hope to continue to use LR in the long term and want to run an OS that gets security updates. The last non subscription version is 6.14. It's tough to find on the Adobe website but it's still available to buy. It works on Mojave, but you get this warning when you launch it:
“Adobe Lightroom” is not optimized for your Mac and needs to be updated. This app will not work with future versions of macOS and needs to be updated to improve compatibility. Contact the developer for more information.
I.e. it works for now, but no promises. If 5.3 works then I assume you'll get the same warning.

The reason why LR will not work with future versions of Mac OS X is that Apple is dropping support for 32-bit applications. Newer applications are 64-bit. This technical distinction has to do with how the software deals with accessing storage. There are deeply technical descriptions of this that I don't have links to, but you can search for them. As long as you are content to use unsecured operating system and applications, you can go on with what you have. You are leaving yours;f vulnerable to serious security issues, however.
