Cat person needs dog sweater

I need to get a dog sweater for a small (maybe 20 pound?) dog. There are a lot of dog sweaters on the internet. A LOT. What ever does one look for in a dog sweater?

It's a gift for a friend. It's meant to be holiday-ish, but ideally could be worn year-round. I'm thinking $30 tops. What makes for a good dog sweater? Do you have one you like? Where should I get one?

Most sweaters will have measurement ranges on the tag, it’s usually the dog’s height, length and chest width. It’s especially worth getting the sizing right if it’s a sweater the dog is going to wear outside because of its too big they will get pee all over it (ask me how I know).

hello i have asked this question previously and while the best answer link doesn't quite work anymore, this is the solution to all your dog sweater needs.

Consider how the dog acts. Is this a prim and proper dog? Then you can get something super cute and more expensive.

My dog is older, sloppy, and lacks grace. I buy cheap sweaters for him from amazon, burlington, marshalls, or target. I normally buy things based on his chest size because his chest is big for a 30lb dog.

I have a small dog who benefits from cool weather clothing. For a sweater, stretchy enough to be super easy to get on and off. Or velcro so cute little fleece jackets can fit properly.
