My iPhone and iPad updated and now my PDFs are missing out of iBooks. Dammit. Is there anyway to get them back? The most recent ones will not be in the backup on my computer

I am now on iOS 12.0.1.

Are you sure they didn't just migrate into iCloud? That's where all mine have ended up after iOS upgrades, I believe.

Another place to check is Files - it is a default app now and the icon looks like a blue file folder.

Response by poster: Well, how do I call something back out of the cloud?

I just checked; Not in files, thanks for the idea.

The new iBooks over-organizes. Tap "Collections" in the upper left and see what you have in PDFs.

This happened to me, too. I used the instructions here: https://appletoolbox.com/2017/09/ibooks-missing-after-the-latest-upgrade-how-to-fix/
