Things Leftover in the Fridge Thursday

That's not it's official name. That's just what it is.

We do breakfast for dinner in Fridays. Easy to make at the end of a week, and you can dial your Maple syrup to match your stress level as needed.

World of Food Wednesdays, where you step outside your usual box to try something new from another country. Or re-visit a favorite stop from before. (This is how a friend got Chicken Tikka Thursdays)

Seafood Saturday- pretty much runs the gamut.....paella, gumbo, shrimp and grits, fish tacos, clam chowder, fried flounder, low country boil......you name it, we've probably made it on Saturday. We live near the beach so this is sort of in our DNA.

I confess that I celebrated McDonald's Big Mac Mondays and Filet-O-Fish Fridays for several years, but only because the designated items were half-price and I could get two for the price of one. And Sundays used to be two meals, a buffet-style Brunch and sit-down Sunday Dinner that usually included Roast Something. Which made Monday Leftover Day (no alliteration).

We sometimes do Meatless Mondays, which is any vegetarian meal we feel like making that particular week.

Fend For Yourself Fridays (leftovers, usually, on a first come first serve basis). Really you could eat whatever you wanted as long as Mom didn't have to make it.

We have Pho Friday (though during the hot summer months that turns into Naengmyeon Friday which has less of a ring to it).

Every now and again our department at work holds a 'Fromage Friday'. We each bring in a sliver (or slab) of posh cheese and eat it accompanied by whatever free booze we've managed to acquire over the previous weeks/months. It's a great tradition!

A local Tex-Mex place has the less traditional Taco Thursday in addition to the normal Taco Tuesday. We try to enjoy both days equally.

Mimosa Sunday. We also eat things, sure. This week we'll be frying up homemade doughnuts. But mostly, it's the mimosas.

We had "Fish and Chip Frydays" (oh lol) when mum was a bit more flush than usual, but often it was "Feed yourself Friday" where we ate toasted sandwiches for dinner while mum had a nap.

We have Mexican Thing Monday. It's a leftover from my Bachelorette days when my favorite dish was this...

Take a bowl and add any/most of the following: beans, rice, salsa, cheese, whatever veggies are in the fridge, hot sauce, etc. Mix together and zap in microwave. Mix again. Add lettuce/avocado/ingredients that should not be heated up. Eat with chips or tortillas or a fork. Voila. Vaguely Mexican Food, on a Monday.
