West Nile Fallout in East Colorado

One of my loved ones has the diagnosis of West Nile virus neural invasive disease. He thought is was tick-related and had health professionals working with him before he had all of the awfulness. Fever, lack of coordinated muscular movement, vision problems, the works. The diagnosis is based on testing and they can’t really pinpoint exposure.

His symptoms are under control and now he’s in rehab. Prior to this, he forges crafts and earned a B in Calc2. Now his eyes shake/tremor, and he’s a fall risk as he has other muscular tremors. What does healing look like? He’s working with OT and PT in the hospital rehab wing. This affected his cerebellum, so a cognitive therapist is on the horizon, as he’s now wondering about his upcoming engineering classes. The eye tremors mess with reading and he dropped his courses this semester. If you have insight on living with/through this, experiences and insight are welcome!
