Surprise! My desk aquatic plant habitat is apparently host to a snail. He is cute, happy, and super active! He needs a name. A good, clever, fun name for when I introduce him to my co-workers bc he is a good, clever, fun snail.

He is a Malaysian Trumpet Snail. Females are parthenogenetic, if he is a she, your tank will soon be filled with baby MTS. I suggest the name "Roti" as in, "You never can have just one roti."

I'd call him "Crab" or maybe "Sebastian" after the crab in the little mermaid, but then again, I laughed for ages when my friend called his snake "Squirrel".....

Regarding her identity as a trumpet snail, I came in to suggest Allison (Balsam), Tine Thing (Helseth) or Saskia (Laroo).

My office fish tank's two snails were Mario and Luigi. I still have Mario's shell on my desk.

I know she's not a Nautilus, but you could call her Captain Nemo anyway.

Her trumpet shape suggests the archangel Gabriel/Gabrielle. Joshua was another biblical trumpeter. "Jericho" could be another name from that story.

Introducing: Percy Fisshe Shelly

OR if jaramo is right, Mary Shelly

A female snail would be awesome because with all these amazing names I'm gonna need more snails.

Thanks everyone!
