Tub reglazing: does it work? If not, what are my options?

I had our 30 y/o tub reglazed 10 months ago. For a few months it looked great, then we got a little fleabite, then we had lots of fleabites. Now it looks as my husband puts it "like a Motel 6 tub". Our tub is our only shower, so it gets daily use. Is there a way to get it reglazed that is more enduring, or do we need to replace the tub? (If the latter, we just installed new tile surround - is there a way to replace the tub without destroying our beautiful 10 month old tile?)

Based on one experience, I'll say that yes, you can get a good glaze job on your tub, just research and get recommendations first, and yes, it can be done without damaging the tile.

Call the company that did the work. They did something wrong. Reglazing should last for years, not months. Not properly preparing the tub surface, using cheap materials, not applying a thick enough coat, not allowing enough cure time, and the like can cause a new coating to fail.

This is absolutely true. In fact, I have never heard of a tub pitting the way you describe within months if it has been reglazed by a professional. I had mine reglazed 12 years ago and it still looks great. Totally agree that you should contact the company and they should re-do it, or give a total refund so you can have it redone by people who know what they're doing. Good luck!
