Broadband in the Crown of Maine

What's the current state of broadband in the County? I'm considering moving back to Aroostook from living on the gold coast of southern Maine for many years.
Last time I lived up north twenty years ago, it was still ISP only and the guy actually came to my house to set me up because they didn't trust me to be able to do it myself. If there's decent broadband up there now, I could keep my current telecommuting job. I think I'm still tough enough to take the winters and I miss seeing the line of a field against the open sky. Optimal would be Fort Fairfield/Limestone/Easton, but anywhere along the Rte 1 corridor from Houlton to PI would work. Would consider St. John Valley too.

You might want to also contact Pioneer Broadband directly - they're based in Houlton and seem to do much of the broadband connections in The County.

Response by poster: Thanks anastasiav. Looks like pickings are not as slim as they used to be.
