How to move/migrant documents saved in SharePoint to Google Docs

Greetings,
My organization has been working with a consulting firm. The firm has documents saved on SharePoint. They are shifting the project to me and have asked me to download the files from SharePoint and move them to Google docs.
Is there an easy way to do this?
I have not used SharePoint before, and I am failing.

Open with Explorer, copy paste to your drive, upload to Gdocs?
You'll have to use IE or Edge for that probably.
