I love love electronic music- and I drive alone a lot...

Got into Daft Punk in the 90's, Deadmau5, and Justice: now I love cruising to LCD Soundsystem. I don't care how far back you go, driving drums and hypnotic choruses are my jam... Can you make album/ artist suggestions to scratch that itch? even The Strokes does it for me sometime. My case in point? The soundtrack to Tron - Legacy. Think hypnotic driving soundtrack. Thanks!

Electronic beats with driving drums in the background; any band, any decade...

Electronic music is a very expansive genre, much deeper than I think many people realize. One thing that's great about it, especially for music to drive to, are the mixes. Many DJs / producers put together hour plus long mixes that I find are perfect for driving. Check out the Technique Tokyo and Resident Advisor channels for fantastic mixes. I will warn you some of them are pretty out there, but there are just SO MANY different styles it's hard to suggest just one to start with. I have found so much music I love in these mixes.

Albums I'd recommend that are a little friendlier to electronic newcomers:

Todd Terje -- It's Album Time
DJ Koze -- Amygdala (Or anything else by DJ Koze)
Lifestyles Of The Laptop Cafe -- The Other People Place
Hot Chip -- The Warning
Moodymann -- DJ-Kicks

The above represents some diverse styles. If you find yourself particularly fond of anything I included, MeMail me! I have loads more suggestions.

All of the albums I posted as YouTube links should also be on Spotify if that's your thing.

Hypnotic driving, for me, can only mean The Field. His tracks don't sound like much at the beginning, but keep them on for the full 5-10 minutes and you'll be utterly transported.

It's Up There
Arpeggiated Love
Looping State of Mind
Cupid's Head
Thom Yorke - Cymbal Rush (The Field Rmx)

Carpenter Brut and Perturbator are favourites of mine but they both have a certain horror-theme bent? So proceed with caution if you check out their videos to see if you like 'em.

Both Carpenter Brut and Le Matos have a hard time leaving my car's CD player once I've put them on.

Juno Reactor - Bible of Dreams is an oldy& goody but definite hypnotic drums.

Seconding The Field for hypnotic driving soundscapes. For more in that vein, also check out Fuck Buttons, who are noisier but to my ear slightly more accessible.

Some of Jon Hopkins stuff would probably fall into this area.

Daniel Avery's Drone Logic is one of my favourite albums of the last few years and I think fits here - deep, dark techno. Also his DJ-Kicks mix is amazing.

Underworld - especially Beacoup Fish and the Everything Everything live album.

You'd probably like Simian Mobile Disco - Justice did a remix of one of their tracks back from when they were an indie band, and following that they basically did a complete 180 into tweaky acid techno.

There's a whole genre dedicated to driving, synth-and-drums electronic music - maybe try some 'Outrun' playlists on your streaming service of choice?

Do you know the Motorik beat?

It's pretty much synonymous with "hypnotic, driving beat". Here is an example, here's a top 10 list of track built on the Motorik beat.

Also, Themes For An Imaginary Film is literally a synth driven driving themed "soundtrack." This producer was on the shortlist for getting the nod to do the soundtrack to the movie Drive. The movie folks ended up not selecting the score but the producer finished and released the soundtrack anyway. It maybe a little slower than you're looking for but it's an interesting story and decent piece of music none the less.

Also, I shouldn't leave out Orbital, particularly something like Lush or, a little poppier, Halcyon.

Enthusiastically seconding Royksopp.

Also have lately been deeply enamored of Lorn Acid Rain.

Wow , this far down to get to Vegas by The Crystal Method. I dare you not to want to drive when you listen.

If you're okay with 15 year old electronic music, Hybrid. Wider Angle (studio album), and their set on Groove Radio come to mind.

The Essential Mix is a weekly show on Radio 1, two hours a week, maybe less hypnotic than you want.

Orbital, Orb, and the Chemical Brothers all pretty much fit the bill, though.

M83 certainly does, although it's less dance.

Mum or maybe Koan?

+1 for Underworld (among many great suggestions up there). I have a strong, visceral memory of where I was driving when I first heard "Born Slippy," and I remember feeling like I could have driven forever.
