Thanksgiving in Santa Fe

We are heading to Santa Fe for Thanksgiving this year and need restaurant recommendations for Thanksgiving dinner.

We really enjoy traditional the traditional Thanksgiving spread - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc.... I don't mind regional flair (green chiles in the potatoes? Yes!), but I'm not looking for anything totally radical or experimental, or just a fancy meal. We'll be staying in an Air BnB on the east side near Canyon Road.

Geronimo is pretty fancy, but it's on Canyon Road and it looks like they are doing a Thanksgiving menu.

Here are some of the traditional establishments. La Fonda on near the Plaza will probably have some special Thanksgiving fare (along with its historic ambience). Harry’s Roadhouse Cafe is a local favorite that’s just outside of town. Canyon Road has El Farol or you could try the Pink Adobe which is along Old Santa Fe Trail near Alameda. Most of these places will fill up before Thanksgiving so make your reservations asap.

There are scads of other fine restaurants. I would suggest that you pick up a copy of the Santa Fe Reporter (comes out every Wed.) or the Friday edition of the New Mexican (with the Pasatiempo entertainment section) and they will be chock full of ideas.

And don’t forget to check out the official Christmas tree lighting on the Plaza that happens the evening after Turkey Day.

I eat at Tomasita's every time I pass through. Not fancy but delicious.
