Where to eat in-between Downtown LA and Anaheim?

I live near downtown LA, in Echo Park. My friend is visiting Anaheim. I'd like to meet her for dinner - where should we eat?
Doesn't have to be exactly halfway.
Any type of cuisine is great.
Main goal is for it to be very good and somewhere between the two cities.

The best Thai restaurant in LA (imho) is in Norwalk, which looks like it would be about halfway between you two. Renu Nakorn. 13019 Rosecrans Ave #105, Norwalk, CA 90650.

If you like steaks go to North Woods Inn in La Mirada, it's right off the 5 fwy so its easy to find. They can be pricey, but their sandwiches are also excellent. Maybe the best cheese bread I've ever had.

The South Bay is not half way between DTLA and Anaheim. If she doesn't want to drive to LA, I think your best bet would be maybe Whittier Off the Hook, or else driving to Anaheim.

What about Long Beach?
What's your budget? Two options: Nick's on 2nd (Gastropub and reasonably priced) and Michaels on Naples Island (Fine Italian and $$$).
But really, there are a lot of great choices on Second Street in Belmont Shore.

I'll second this. I've been there many times and have never failed to leave feeling satisfied. Along similar lines, Thai Table in Whittier is also very good.

Yet another recommendation for Renu Nakorn here. I was going to suggest it before I saw the other answers!

You might also consider visiting Little India along Pioneer Boulevard in Artesia.

Artesia is what came to mind for me, too. Pretty much exactly halfway and the best Indian food you'll get in SoCal.

You should be able to find an "In and Out Burger" somewhere between LA and Anaheim.

Also, Spoon House in Gardena used to be really good, but I haven't been there in years so can't vouch for their quality now.
