How can I install Discourse bulletin board system?

Hi all, I'm looking at Discourse and wanting to see if there is some relatively easy to get a board running without paying for assistance.

I think Discourse has the potential to be a very useful tool for internal communications and possibly end up replacing an outmoded listserv as well. I don't have a budget for this so I'm not able to pony up $99 for installation assistance. I think there are probably Bitnami or VMware virtual machines that contain Discourse available. While I have technical skills, put me on the command line and it gets ugly real quick. Is there a reasonably easy way to get a Discourse board up and running? I would pay a hosting fee if need be to make this more technically feasible or easier to do.
My thought is if I can point people in my company at this board, its utility would become apparent, then I could point a DNS name at it and make it official. So, Discourse would initially be a test bed set up. Thanks for any tips or resources I could use to get this accomplished.

Best answer: Did you try their docker-based installation instructions?

Have you actually asked for the $99? That should be less than peanuts to a company not about to die, and it sounds like you have the benefits mapped out well.
