Best places to stay in Silverton, CO with a dog.

Considering driving over to Silverton this weekend. Any recommendations?

If you don't mind staying an hour away, the Hilton in Durango treated us well and was really nice. They have a pet fee, but it is (or was a couple of years ago) per stay, not per day, and they provide food/water bowls and a fairly nice dog bed for the extra money. Having a room with a patio directly adjacent to the path along the Animas River made it especially convenient for dog walking, and the grocery store a short walk away was a nice added bonus.

Sorry this isn't actually answering your question, but you should be aware that there is a major bicycle event, the Iron Horse Classic, happening in Durango and Silverton this Sunday. Both towns, and especially Silverton in the afternoon, will be packed with exhausted cyclists, impatient drivers, etc., and hotels will be pretty full.
