Can you recommend a Spanish language (possibly an immersion course) for attorneys in the city of Chicago? Cost is only a minor consideration. It's unlikely I will travel out of the city for it. Googling turns up the usual suspects, but I am looking for personal recommendations if possible.

Study

Then find teachers at

I highly recommend having at least two teachers, from different places. One from Spain, one from Latin American (for extra credit, do maybe a Colombian and an Argentinian).

Most immersion classes are going to be way overpriced, but they do provide a lot of accountability. If the person studying Spanish has a lot of grit when it comes to studying -- if they made it through law school, they should! -- then imo I'd use something like italki and just ramp up the volume. 2-3 teachers, 2 times a week apiece. And maybe find a teacher in person as well (use yelp/google, and just stick with whomever you like).

As a rule of thumb, I'd try and study 2-3 hours outside of class for every hour in class. Make heavy use of Anki (which the fluent forever trainer will expose you to).

12 months in, take a couple months off and go to a latin american country and do a home stay. Repeat as frequently as you can afterwards :P
