Another quote to identify, about love

I once read a sentence to the effect that "the soul of a man in love is like the closed-up air of a sickroom." I don't remember much else about it, except that it was a quote in whatever else I was reading, and that it might have been in translation from another language. I think the person quoted might have been named Jose. Can you help?

Best answer: "The soul of a man in love smells of the closed-up room of a sick man--its confined atmosphere is filled with stale breath." (link)

Best answer: More specifically, from Ortega y Gasset's On Love.
