Help me create nesting menus in Shopify

I'm building a Shopify website. I need to install nesting menus; apparently this is possible but I am not exactly a coding genius.

What I'm attempting: six "featured collections" buttons on homepage, each one leading to further "sub-collections" buttons, which lead to individual items. For example, first level "Antique Prints", second level "Vanity Fair caricatures", third level a list of the items for sale. All I'm doing is inserting a level between the already existing top and bottom levels.

What I need: someone to hold my hand and tell me exactly what code to put where.

Allow me to lead you by hand to these instructions in the excellent Shopify docs. I don't know that I can make it any simpler myself. It is what it is.
