Want tiny desktop network data widget for win7x64 (not legacy Gadget)

I remember that the Windows desktop gadgets? for the sidebar used to be a thing, and they were kinda cool, but then Microsoft said "stop using those, they're a security risk", so I did. There is surely another 3rd party thing that does something like this? But my google-fu is failing.

I don't need a masterful swiss army knife/remotely do ssh-y things console thing, I just want a little desktop program that maybe runs in the system tray (or not) and displays a small window that I may or may not be able to have "always on top" that shows stuff like ip address, maybe dns, any attached network doodads. Sort of like the old Network Meter gadget. I realize I can get that info out of a command prompt and other tools, but this is a thing I would like.

I have found a number of bandwidth monitoring things but they just show the bandwidth. This guy is sorta close .

(also *not* looking for system spec tool (that shows cpu/ram etc)

This is just for a single home computer. : )

Thanks mefiter i.t. inclined folk!

I know that on Mac there's GeekTool.

Googling around for GeekTool-alikes yields Rainmeter for Windows, which looks reasonably legit, although I haven't tried it myself (yet!).
