Good looking digital watches with metal band?

I'm trying to find a good-looking digital watch with a metal band.

I've had a Timex Ironman Triathlon 30-Lap Traditional Fullsize which I have been pretty happy with. I'd like to find another watch that is functional and also looks good. Do you have a suggestion? Or does any kind of digital watch just scream "hopelessly nerdy?" I already have a nice analog watch for dressy occasions.

I'm not buying a Casio again after having too many break.

Re. Casio - Did you buy G-Shocks? They come in metal and plastic - and some plastic G-Shocks look very cool indeed. I have one and would buy another if I had to.

I have a Philip Stark and I love it.
Also, Fossil has great customer service - I've had three of these watches so far - when it breaks, I send it in and it's replaced for free (of course, it depends on what's wrong with it).

Response by poster: I had a plastic G-Shock, which eventually just stopped working. Nothing displayed on the LCD or anything. I took it to a decent local watch repair shop (not the one in the mall) and they said that it was probably short-circuited somehow and would need to be sent in to Casio for replacement.

How long have you had yours?

oh sorry, i got excited and forgot about your metal band request.

Darkthrone is a pretty good metal band...
(man, that joke is as dorky as a digital watch)

Either three or four years, I think - I wear it for everything, including mountain biking, and swimming. It still looks almost new. Can't remember if I had to do a battery replacement but I think not. I know what you mean about a bad experience with anything though - it can put you off.

You might want to try the Timex Ironman series.

sorry, didn't obviously read the entire post. My apologies.

BTW are you still in UK? - Here in the US you can get specials on G-Shocks for about $60 up (GBP 40), which probably colours my attitudes towards them. They look more expensive in the UK.

Best answer: Suunto Observer. (Flash is required for main site but not this page). I have one of their X-Lander watches and love it...

nike have quite a range of sports watches, available from amazon. not many have metal straps, but you might find something. you might try adidas too, although i don't remember any metal straps there (i was just looking for a new watch and a base model nike oregon seems like a pretty solid basic watch - simple, black, digital).

Response by poster: I'm in the U.S. until Monday morning, and then going back to the UK.

Response by poster: I've found two watches that I like, the Timex Ironman Triathlon 42-Lap Combo with dual tech feature. At the press of a button it converts between a digital and an analog watch! Also the Suunto Observer mentioned above looks really, really nice, but perhaps a little expensive.
