London, early December

I'm in London with a 13 year old in early December. Wondering where to go for a good holiday market, especially any with a European feel, dates are Dec. 1 - 6. We do have a Sunday free, do you have a recommendation for an advent service?

You might like this for a christmas market, or this for amusement park + christmas market.

For advent services, you can just check out the calendars for the big cathedrals. In addition to the obvious candidates like St Pauls & Westminster Abbey, I've also enjoyed St Martin in the Fields and Southwark Cathedral.

London does not really have a large Christmas Market; the most significant one, at the South Bank Centre, is fairly moderately sized by European standards. It's noted in this list of Christmas markets and fairs in London, but if you want a full-size German-style event and don't mind travelling about an hour and a half out of London, the Birmingham Christmas Market is an option.

The Southbank one is nice, the Hyde park one is pretty grotty.
