If you like haunted houses, Fright Town is supposed to be a humdinger. As far as thrift stores go, Hollywood Vintage is great for costumes, and the Bins (Goodwill Outlet) is a treasure trove for the courageous and persistent.

Check out Lone Fir Pioneer Cemetery -- a fantastic cemetery in inner SE Portland. Too bad you'll be there too early for the yearly Tour of Untimely Departures, but it's well worth checking out just to see the Victorian monuments.

The creepiest place in Portland, hands down, is the Portland Memorial Mausoleum, but sadly it's only open on Memorial Day. Imagine eight stories of Art Deco corpse boxes and you're only imagining THE BEGINNING of the Portland Memorial Mausoleum. I just note this for future reference.
