Key fob battery error as symptom of....what?

YANMM (You are not my mechanic), but my volvo has had key fob errors on and off for the last 3 weeks or so and I am wondering if it is something serious.

Has as anyone had experience with this sort of thing:

Volvo, 2008, 58k miles
just got a new car battery

Before the battery, was getting key fob battery errors.
Changing the batteries in the fobs made the error go away

The error also went away right after the old battery was jumped and right after the new battery was installed.

But now the new battery is 4 days old and the key fob error is back on both keys (both keys have new batteries)

I will need a 60k service soon and I wondering if I can ignore this until then. I was told that the key fob error was symptomatic of a car battery problem. This seems less likely now that I have my new car battery; any other candidates?

I am wondering if there's any troubleshooting that is worthwhile for me to try and also if I can postpone dealing with this for about a month. I don't drive it every day but I will be leaving it at the airport parking for 3 days about a week from now. Wondering about that....

can you describe the error? does the fob fail to work or just a notification on dash?

Response by poster: just a notice that the key fob battery is low

Is there another key fob that it might be reading a low battery from, maybe in the house or garage, or just the two you changed the battery in?
