Australian Start-up Innovation Community

I would like to find/reach the Australian (specifically Brisbane/Queensland) Start-up and Innovation community. That is all. Who are they, where are they, how do I contact them?

I seek to know how to network without using Facebook or LinkedIn with these people.

Hackerspace.
Not in QLD, but try contacting Marjoran.co in Adelaide for info on their interstate counterparts.
You could also try incubators based on the East Coast like Blue Chili.

Are you opposed to using Twitter? Searching for the #startupaus hashtag may give you some leads.

Spacecubed in Perth is similar. Recently they hosted a startup weekend, and all of the mentors and judges are active in the national community.
