MS Office Reporting Service

Before writing this from scratch I'd like to know if something already exists. The need is for a server that accepts data, document type and an optional template id, and returns an MS Office doc (powerpoint or excel) containing the data, in the selected template.

Transport would be HTTP, and data wrapper would be JSON on the way in, preferably.

I'm thinking that the specifics needs of the docs to be generated would make this a good candidate for custom building, but if there's some generalized solution to this problem area I haven't considered I'd like to look at it.

I've been using jsreport for a fair amount of work like this, though it only does excel, and not powerpoint. It still requires some JavaScript effort, and the spreadsheets are pretty basic, but it might be a starting point.
