Identifying agents of foreign banks

Bank Compliance Mefites: I'm looking to find out how one identifies customers that may be acting as agents of foreign banks. Are there resources like government published lists, activities/behaviors that help identify them, etc.? Also I know there is an online forum, BankersOnline, that is helpful for these types of questions. Are there other forums out there that may be helpful?

I'm a little unclear as to what you're asking, i.e. are you looking for anyone who might just be an agent (though I'm not sure what that means in the context of your question) or specifically looking for people/institutions that are subject to economic sanctions? If it's the latter, OFAC publishes a list of Specially Designated Nationals (SDN's) here.

The banking regulator is the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Here is their page on financial crime (which includes money laundering).

Response by poster: I'm looking to find out what steps can be taken, other than CIP and account monitoring, to determine if an account holder maintains an account with us directly for, or on behalf of, a foreign bank. Is it just consistent monitoring of account activity to determine if there is something that deviates from expected baseline?
