TEFL certification online?

Which online TEFL certificates are accredited and legit for teaching overseas in either Japan or China?

Pretty straight forward. I have itchy feet, nothing tying me down. I want to begin a TEFL certification this year, preferably delivered online, so that I can be competitive in the international English teaching market. I need recommendations for a company that will provide an accredited TEFL cert that can be used to apply to schools/companies in China or Japan. I am not sure it makes a difference, but I'd like to not get ripped off/waste my time. Thanks for any info!

Best answer: Not sure about TEFL, but for Japan there are two programs to be an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) - JET and Interac - which I believe have several intakes per year.
Caveat: must have a degree. Details in this video.

Best answer: I taught in Japan for ECC and had a great experience, no TEFL necessary. MeMail me for details.
