Gift Soup for the Chicken Lover's Soul?

What would be a good/interesting food- or cooking-related gift for someone who would be happy eating chicken literally every day?

This is a pretty random (and ridiculous) question but I am totally stuck.

My husband generally wants for nothing and is always very difficult to buy gifts for. We always laugh about he eats a lot of chicken and could literally eat it every day. Despite my somewhat misleading title, he doesn't stick to soup but rather usually makes a baked chicken breast for dinner, though he likes dark meat too.

I am trying to figure out how to exploit his passion for chicken for my own devious gifting machinations but, not surprisingly, am coming up short! Do you know where I can get THE BEST possible seasoning or marinade for chicken? Is there a special, little known way of cooking it? (I know they have those Himalayan salt boards you can cook steak on--even if they worked for chicken I think they are pretty pricey?) An all-chicken cookbook appropriate for a novice cook? I can provide more details if need be--thanks in advance.

Best answer: What about a tagine? I have a tiny one, for when I'm cooking just for me, and I almost always cook chicken it is because I also really love chicken.

Penzeys is a fabulous place for spice mixes (if you can't get to Your DeKalb Farmer's Market.)

I might source some fantastic, home grown, free range chickens to stock the freezer with, so he can have the absolute BEST of this magnificent bird. If you call the farm directly, they can often arrange to ship directly to you.

Best answer: This recipe for chicken thighs with preserved lemons is to die for, so I'd recommend some preserved lemons! (Bonus, you can make these yourself if you want.)

World Spice is an AH-mazing spice store here in Seattle that ships everywhere in the US as well as Canada and some international places. They do this poultry spice gift set called Cluck Cluck Boom that I've gifted to a friend before with rave results!

Do you ever roast whole chickens? (Oh my god please start it's so easy and delicious.) One thing I've found useful are silicone trussing ties for keeping everything tucked in.

A tagine is a great idea. The domed shape keeps food really moist. I'm partial to the Emily Henry tagine (I own this in two sizes) because the clay is from a particular region in France that creates a particulary porous result when fired, which makes it stronger and less prone to cracking so it's freezer (straight to oven), boiler and microwave safeā€”more multipurpose than other ceramic or stainless steel tagines and easy to clean, too, once it cools and the pores close it kind of pushes the cooked food off the surface. You can use the base without the lid as a pie dish, too, for chicken pot pie!

How about a homemade cookbook? Get a binder and those platic sheet protectors. Print out any recipes for chicken you think look good ( favorite recipes from childhood? Stuff from the Internet? Suggestions from metafilter? !) Decorate the cover to personalize :)

Maybe give along with the tagine or some spice blend or ingredient specific to the recipes.

Head Country BBQ sauce and seasoning are both amazing on chicken. Top Secret Fish Rub is also quite good.
